Postcard from Brazil

Last weekend, I spent a lovely Sunday afternoon with my friend Rich Jones and his wife Monica at a huge crafts fair (Embu Das Artes) just outside of Sao Paulo. Actually, it?s more than a crafts fair. It?s an entire city filled with charming little shops and street vendors selling Brazilian jewelry, antiques and handicrafts.
There are no cars on the cobblestone streets and you can explore the many shops tucked away in the stone-walled nooks and crannies at your leisure. They definitely don?t take American Express and had I brought more cash I would have gone home with this charming wooden wall plaque decorated with little tin dinosaurs.
