Trump said it was because he talked like he had “marbles in his mouth,” “talks in circles” and “couldn’t give a straight answer.” Trump was disgusted with Markus’ inability to get to the point. As Markus left the Boardroom, Trump said, “I don’t have enough time to listen to him.”

A talented designer must present her work to a small group of clients. She becomes so terrified she “clams up” and cannot speak. Her boss gives her an ultimatum. “Either learn to present effectively or look for another job.”

A student has to give an oral presentation for his Master’s degree. When he gets up in front of groups, his speaking voice is all over the place, sometimes nasal, sometimes breathy, sometimes hoarse. Bottom line? He’s terrified and afraid to blow it.

A fund-raiser for a non-profit organization feels like she’s invisible in meetings. Whenever she tries to make a point, she can’t seem to get noticed. People talk right over her and her boss wonders why she’s become such a wall-flower.

A woman and a man meet on-line. They exchange pictures and many emails. Things are looking promising. But when the man calls the woman she is instantly turned off by his somewhat high pitched, nasal-sounding voice. She ends the call as quickly as she can and she won’t answer his emails. He is stunned and can’t figure out why.
