The Great Voice Company Press Releases
The Great Voice Company Receives Certification From National
Women Business Owners Corporation Englewood Cliffs, NJ July17,
2002 The Great Voice Company today announced that it has received certification
from the National Women Business Owners Corporation (NWBOC) as a woman-owned business.
The Great Voice Company, established in 1987 by president and CEO Susan
Berkley, has recorded over two million voice prompts in all languages for phone
systems. In addition, the company has launched a new training workshop, Speak
to Influence, which is designed to help customer service and sales professionals
improve their voice skills.
The NWBOC, a national not-for-profit corporation,
was established as a pioneering economic development strategy for women business
owners and to increase competition for corporate and government contracts. The
national certification program was developed after review by over 700 private/public
entities, and modeled on the National Minority Supplier Development Council Certification
Policy Manual.
According to Janet Harris-Lange, NWBOC president, "women
business owners represent the fastest growing segment of the American economy,
totaling more than 8 million in the United States." Yet "women-owned
businesses receive only 2 percent of all federal procurement awards each year."
"This
certification is a wonderful opportunity for women-owned businesses to develop
supplier relationships with larger companies and the public sector," said
Berkley of The Great Voice Company. "We are happy that we met NWBOC's rigorous
criteria for certification. It is an important next step in our companys
continued growth." # # #
