Ah, commercials.

When my boyfriend hits the mute button I grab the remote and crank up the volume. Annoying, I know. But it’s my bread and butter. He’ll get over it.

As a voice over artist, you’ll (hopefully) be doing a lot of commercial auditions and when you book one, it can be quite lucrative, especially if it runs on network TV.

But even if it’s a local spot, it’s always a thrill when your friends text you that they heard your voice on TV!

  1. Thanks for adding a new book to my library Susan. My VO, the late Paul Armbruster, used that same method. He would always ask after the initial read, “Where are you? and Who are you talking to?” Then we would use a variety people and place while reading the script again.
